Report: Murali Vijay Not Considered For Mushtaq Ali Trophy After Refusal to Take Vaccine

Shocking news is coming out about Indian team opener Murali Vijay, where he reportedly does not want to get the Kovid-19 vaccine. The BCCI is currently organizing the domestic T20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the board has made it mandatory for all players to get the Kovid-19 vaccine to protect against the corona virus. According to the report, Murali also does not want to enter the bio bubble and hence he is away from the Tamil Nadu team and tournament, as well as distance from cricket.

Australia’s team will go to New Zealand to play three-match T20 series next year, young players will get a chance

According to the ‘Times of India’, even if Murali follows the Corona protocol, his selection in the team is not guaranteed. This is because the 37-year-old cricketer has not played any domestic tournament for more than two years. Murali also missed the last two IPL seasons and played his last match for home team Tamil Nadu against Karnataka in 2019. This is the reason why the selectors did not even discuss about him in their meeting.

Apart from Tests, he has also got a chance to play in ODI cricket, where he has scored 339 runs in 17 matches. He played the last Test for the national team on the 2018 tour of Australia. Here India under the leadership of Virat Kohli defeated Australia for the first time in the Test series at his home.
