Rizwan made this world record in T20 International cricket by playing a fifty against Australia at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Rizwan scored 67 runs off 52 balls and completed his third half-century in this tournament. With this, Rizwan has become the first batsman to complete 1000 runs in T20 International cricket in a single calendar. His opening partner is second in the list of highest run-scorers in T20Is in 2021, with 826 runs to his name.
Rizwan had earlier broken Chris Gayle’s world record for most runs in T20 cricket in a calendar year. With his innings of 67 runs against Australia on Thursday, he now has 1743 runs in T20 International cricket in 39 innings. He has scored 1033 runs in 20 innings this year. Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman scored 55 runs off 32 balls as Pakistan scored 176 runs against Australia.
This is Rizwan’s 11th fifty in T20 International cricket. He played an innings of 67 runs in 52 balls. He hit three fours and four sixes in his innings. The pair of Babar and Rizwan have scored 402 runs together in this tournament so far, which is the most runs scored by any pair in any T20 World Cup. The pair of Babar and Rizwan shared 152 not out against India, 28 against New Zealand, 12 against Afghanistan, 113 against Namibia and 35 runs for the first wicket against Scotland.
