New Delhi: Legendary tennis player Roger Federer has announced his retirement from professional tennis. He told through a post that he will retire from professional tennis after the Laver Cup next week. He said that this will be my last ATP event. Federer has won 20 Grand Slam titles and is considered one of the greatest players in the world. Along with this, he has expressed his gratitude to his fans and players through video messages.
Federer has thanked his fans and rival players in his journey. Federer said that at the age of 41, he feels the time has come to call it quits. Federer said, “I am 41 years old. I have played more than 1500 matches in 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than ever and now I have to recognize when this is the end of my competitive career.”

Federer further thanked his wife Mirka who stood by him every minute. He wrote, “She encouraged me a lot before the final, watched a lot of matches even when she was 8 months pregnant and she has been with me for more than 20 years.”
