Rohit Sharma Welcomes New India Head Coach Rahul Dravid Says It Will Be Nice Working With Him in Future

New Delhi. Rohit Sharma has congratulated former captain Rahul Dravid on being appointed the new head coach of Team India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday confirmed the latter’s appointment and said that his term would begin with the upcoming home series against New Zealand. Rahul Dravid (who was serving as the head of the National Cricket Academy) has been appointed for a period of two years until the 2023 50-over World Cup in India. He will replace Ravi Shastri, whose tenure will end after the conclusion of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.

India defeated Afghanistan (IND vs AFG) by 66 runs in their third match of the ICC T20 World Cup. India had suffered a crushing defeat against Pakistan and New Zealand, but the team has made a tremendous comeback against Afghanistan. In the press conference after the match against Afghanistan, Team India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma was asked about Rahul Dravid becoming the coach. To this Rohit Sharma said, “Congratulations for him to be back in the Indian team, but in a different character. We look forward to working with him. He is a legend of Indian cricket and it would be great to work with him in future.”

BBL’s first Indian male cricketer became the captain to make India the world champion

Earlier this year in July, Rahul Dravid toured Sri Lanka with the second-line Indian team. Shikhar Dhawan was leading this team India. Apart from being the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore, the former India captain has also worked with the India A and India Under-19 teams as a coach.

Rahul Dravid said in a statement issued by the BCCI, “It is an absolute honor to be appointed as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team and I am really looking forward to this role. Under Ravi Shastri’s leadership, the team has done extremely well, and I look forward to working with the team to take this forward.”
Indian fans gave a befitting reply that Pakistan journalist stopped speaking, told IND vs AFG match to be fixed

At the same time, after the match, Rohit Sharma admitted that some of India’s decisions in the T20 World Cup have been proved wrong, but he also said that this happens due to mental fatigue caused by being away from home for a long time. Rohit, who scored 74 runs in Wednesday’s 66-run win against Afghanistan, was referring to the defeat against Pakistan and New Zealand. He said in the post-match press conference, “The attitude was different in this match. I wish we could play like this in the first two matches too, but it didn’t happen and it happens when we are away from home for a long time. Sometimes decisions go wrong and the same thing happened in the first two matches as well.”
