Former India cricketer and selector Saba Karim has made a big claim about the T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia. He is hopeful that left arm pacer Arshdeep Singh will get a place in India’s team for this mega event. Saba Karim has also told why Arshdeep’s claim is confirmed for the T20 World Cup. Arshdeep has not played even half a dozen international matches so far, but still the former selector feels that he will get a place in the World Cup squad.
Former selector Saba Karim has expressed hope that left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh will be able to make it to the squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Speaking to Sports18, he said, “I have high hopes from Arshdeep Singh as he brings a lot of variety to the attack. Also he is versatile in terms of the slots of overs that he can come and bowl in. Learning every day and you need that kind of left arm bowler in your attack who has so much variety. So I think he is very high up the selection order in terms of World Cup selection.”
23-year-old Arshdeep Singh may have played only 4 T20 Internationals so far and has picked up 6 wickets in them, but he has bowled at an economy of 6.52. Whenever captain Rohit Sharma has given him the responsibility of bowling, he has either taken a wicket or he has been successful in stopping the run, so that the bowler at the other end is successful in taking the wicket. The good thing is that he is able to do it from the first over to the 20th over without any fear and he has done this many times in big tournaments like IPL, where he has been playing for Punjab Kings.
