Sachin Tendulkar played only 1 T20 match for India
This match was played against South Africa in 2006
New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s great batsman Sachin Tendulkar has played only 1 T20 match in his career. In the year 2007, when Team India played its first T20 match, Sachin was a part of that match. The command of the team was not in the hands of Mahendra Singh Dhoni but in the hands of the explosive opener. The only T20 that Sachin played in his career was under the captaincy of his own disciple.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has made a world record of playing 200 Test matches but T20 played only 1. The amazing thing is that the one T20 match played by Sachin was also the first match of the shortest format of cricket for the Indian team. This match against South Africa was played in December 2006. This was the only T20 match played on the tour of South Africa which India won by 6 wickets.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni not the first T20 captain
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who took command in the first T20 World Cup for the Indian team, was the second captain to captain in this format. Explosive opener Virender Sehwag got the opportunity to captain India for the first time in T20. Dhoni was a part of that team and that was Sachin’s only T20 match.
