Pakistan’s experienced all-rounder Shoaib Malik played a key role in winning his team against New Zealand in a crucial match of the T20 World Cup being played in UAE and Oman on Tuesday. Chasing the target of runs against the Kiwi team, he played an unbeaten innings of 26 runs when the team seemed to be in trouble. Together with Asif Ali, he added 48 runs in 3.5 overs for the sixth wicket and gave the team its second consecutive win. After his performance, his father-in-law i.e. Sania Mirza’s father Imran Mirza, while sharing a post, compared him with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and called it a strange coincidence.
He has shared this post on Instagram. He wrote in its caption, “Look at the amazing combination of these figures of 2 best T20 players in the world, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Shoaib Malik.” Chasing 295 runs in 189 balls. Surprisingly, during this period, both the players have scored runs at a strike rate of 156.08 and an impressive average of 49.17. People have commented fiercely on this post of Sania’s father and have called both the players great.
Talking about Dhoni, he is presently present in UAE and is playing the role of mentor of Team India. Under Dhoni’s guidance, the team had defeated strong teams like Australia and England in both their practice matches, but the team had to face a big 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Pakistan in their debut match. This was India’s first defeat in World Cup matches at the hands of Pakistan in the last 29 years. Earlier, 12 matches were played between the two teams, where Team India had won every time.
