New Delhi. Yuzvendra Chahal, playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023, has named Sanju Samson as his favorite IPL captain. Chahal said that Sanju Samson looks exactly like Mahendra Singh Dhoni to him. Sanju also remains cool on the field like Dhoni. Whatever improvement or progress this leg-spinner has made in his bowling in the last 1 year, the credit goes to Sanju. Yuzvendra Chahal has played in the IPL before, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Yuzvendra Chahal told Humans of Bombay, “Sanju Samson is my favorite captain in IPL. I think he is very much like Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni). He remains very calm and cool. Even the 10 percent improvement that has come in me as a bowler in the last 1 year is because of Sanju. Sanju tells me that you have 4 overs, you are completely free from my side to bowl however you want.

Chahal also praised Dhoni
During this conversation, Yuzvendra Chahal also praised Dhoni fiercely. Chahal said that Mahi Bhai has helped me and Kuldeep Yadav’s career a lot. Dhoni has 50 percent contribution in taking our career forward. Because during the match, he often used to guide both Hagam as to which batsman, how and where to bowl.

Chahal further said that till now I have played under 3 Indian captains, in which Mahi Bhai, Rohit Bhaiya and Virat Bhaiya are there. All three are special to me. Because these three always allowed me to bowl with complete freedom. Mahi Bhai is always ready to give advice if needed on issues related to personal life other than cricket career.

Chahal was bought by Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022. Last season, he took 27 wickets and Rajasthan reached the final. Chahal also won the Purple Cap. This year too, Chahal has taken 12 wickets in 6 matches and remains in the race for the Purple Cap.
