New Delhi. Sanju Samson, who captained Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021, has been asked to stay in UAE till further notice. Two days after the end of the IPL, the World Cup matches are starting from October 17. Team India has to play the first match against Pakistan on 24 October. Samson’s team failed to make it to the Rajasthan playoffs but he grabbed everyone’s attention with his batting. There is a possibility that Samson may be included in the Indian team as some of the players selected earlier are suffering from injuries and poor form.
Sanju Samson has scored 484 runs in 14 matches at an average of 40 in IPL 2021. He has scored one century and two half-centuries. Samson has also played excellent innings of 82 and 70 not out on UAE pitches. Players like Hardik Pandya and Rahul Chahar have not done well during the UAE leg of the IPL. According to the IANS report, Samson is being asked to stay in the UAE till further notice, while his team was pulled out of the IPL on 7 October.
BCCI can change the team
BCCI has time till October 15 to make changes in the team. Today i.e. on October 13, Team India is going to launch the new jersey. According to media reports, Team India can be announced again. A maximum of 22 players can be kept in the team. The news of Umran Malik, Avesh Khan and Venkatesh Iyer joining the team has already come. RCB fast bowler Harshal Patel can be added to the team as the fourth player.
