New Delhi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is preparing to appoint Saqlain Mushtaq as the head coach of the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The veteran spinner was supposed to lead the coaching staff of Pakistan’s home series against New Zealand but the visiting team abandoned the tour at the last moment due to security reasons. This means that if he is made the head coach of Pakistan in the T20 World Cup to be hosted by UAE and Oman, then his first appointment as the head coach of the national team will be at the global level.
After retiring from all forms of cricket, Saqlain became an active coach and has coached many teams. He has also worked as a spin bowling coach or consultant with the teams of England, West Indies and New Zealand. Therefore, the PCB wants them to prepare the players well during the high-profile tournaments.
According to a report by Sama TV, a big report has been presented by Pakistan Cricket. It said that the Pakistan team management is ready to make an official announcement after getting approval from PCB chief Rameez Raja.
