Karachi. Virat Kohli also left the captaincy of the Indian T20 team after the end of India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021. He did this to focus more on the batting. Now former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has advised Virat Kohli. He believes that Kohli should give up the captaincy completely to perform more brilliantly as a batsman.
Talking to Sama TV, Afridi appreciated the decision of BCCI to make Rohit Sharma the captain of the Indian T20 team. He said that it will be good if Kohli decides to retire from all formats as captain.
Rohit Sharma is a player with a strong mindset
Praising Rohit, Afridi said that he played with Rohit for a year and Rohit is a wonderful player with a strong mindset. His biggest strength is that when necessary, he can be in a relaxed mood and can also show aggression according to the need. He said that Rohit is mentally strong in terms of a good captain and he has also shown it with IPL franchise Mumbai Indians.
Afridi played for Deccan Chargers with Rohit in the initial time of IPL. Regarding Kohli’s captaincy, Afridi said that he was only expecting Kohli to leave the captaincy. He said that Kohli should focus on his batting after retiring from all formats as captain. They still have a lot of cricket left in them. He is a top level batsman.
