Pakistan has to play 5 ODIs against New Zealand
The first match of the series will be held in Rawalpindi today.
New Delhi. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi lashed out at his son-in-law and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi for his poor performance in the fifth T20I against New Zealand. Chasing 194 runs, the Kiwi team was put on the backfoot by Shaheen taking two wickets in the very first over. However, after this he could not maintain his line length. Shaheen gave away 48 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Shahid Afridi also gave advice to leg-spinner Shadab Khan.
Pakistan had to face defeat by 6 wickets in the last T20 against New Zealand. In the 5-match series, the hosts had taken a 2-0 lead, but the Kiwis came back strongly to make the score 2-2. The fourth T20 was canceled due to rain. Shahid Afridi said that consistency in line and length is important in winning matches. Shaheen started strong, but later he faltered and kept bowling in the wrong areas. Please tell that Shaheen had given away 16 runs in the 18th over of the innings.
‘Focus on bowling instead of batting’
Shahid Afridi also targeted Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shadab Khan. Talking to the media, Afridi said, Shadab has always been bowling well in the middle overs. However, he also struggles against left-handed batsmen. He should focus on his bowling because that is his strength. As a batter, he should take a backseat. Shahid Afridi said, Shadab’s performance matters the most. He should try to improve his bowling to retain his place in the team.
