Shreyas Iyer has reached NCA for the rehab of his back injury

New Delhi. Team India’s star batsman Shreyas Iyer is troubled by back injury. This injury of Shreyas emerged during the fourth test played against Australia in Ahmedabad. He was advised surgery to get rid of the injury that was troubling him repeatedly. But, Shreyas has postponed this option and has reached the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and started his rehab.
Shreyas Iyer wants to be available for the final of the World Test Championship against Australia. Keeping this in mind, this right-handed batsman has decided not to undergo surgery yet. Because in case of surgery, he will have to stay away from the field for 5 to 6 months, in such a situation, his hopes of participating in the World Cup could also be affected. Shreyas himself now also aims to be fit for the World Test Championship final to be held in June.

According to Cricbuzz, a source close to Shreyas Iyer said, “He has met experts and NCA officials. Everyone agrees on one thing that the operation can be avoided. He will follow the advice of experts. However, Shreyas will be able to play in IPL, it seems difficult. He will be given an injection on Thursday for the treatment of back injury. He will remain in NCA till he gets fitness clearance.
Nitish became the captain of KKR
In the absence of Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana has been made the acting captain of KKR. However, coach Chandrakant Pandit is still hopeful that Shreyas will be able to play a few more matches in the tournament. For this reason, the team has not selected any player as a replacement for Iyer.
