Shubman Gill completes double century by hitting 3 consecutive sixes, shatters Tendulkar, Sehwag and Rohit’s record


New Delhi. Indian opener Shubman Gill’s strong batting was seen in the first match of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Fiercely at one end, this young man scored a double century. This youngster completed his double century by hitting three consecutive sixes. Due to this innings, the Indian team scored 349 runs for 8 wickets. In this, 208 runs belonged to Gill.

In the first ODI against New Zealand in Hyderabad, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Shubman Gill, along with the captain, got another straight start for the team. Rohit was dismissed after scoring 34 runs, after which Virat Kohli, the centurion of the previous match, also got bowled by a brilliant ball from Mitchell Santner. Ishan Kishan lost the wicket after scoring just 5 runs.

Gill made a befitting attack
In the midst of falling wickets, Shubman Gill’s bat kept raining runs. He completed fifty runs in the first 52 balls by hitting 9 fours and 1 six. After this, after facing 87 balls, he completed the century by hitting 14 fours and 2 sixes. This was Gill’s second consecutive century in ODIs and third career century. From here, Gill started dealing the innings in fours and sixes and first completed 150 runs in 122 balls and then reaching the last over, hitting 3 consecutive sixes, scored a double century in 145 balls, hitting 19 fours and 8 sixes.
