Venue of BWF World Tour Finals changed due to Corona
Now this tournament will be held in Thailand’s capital Bangkok instead of China.

New Delhi. The upcoming BWF World Tour Finals will be held in Bangkok from December 7 instead of Guangzhou due to Corona infection. This tournament was to be held from 14 December. But due to the issue of stadium availability, it will now start a week earlier. The Badminton World Federation announced this on Tuesday.

The federation said in a statement, ‘BWF has decided to hold the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2022 to another venue after consultation with the Chinese Badminton Association due to the situation arising out of the Corona epidemic. We thank the Thailand Badminton Association, who made arrangements to host the tournament at such a short notice.

Only HS Prannoy will participate in this from India. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu also qualified but withdrew due to incomplete recovery from a fracture in her left ankle.
