The only day-night test match between India and Australia women’s cricket team is being played in Queensland. The game was affected on the second day due to the disturbance of rain. Team India scored 276 runs in the first innings for the loss of 5 wickets. Smriti Mandhana scored the first century of her Test career, while Poonam Raut also supported the opener. Poonam is in discussion about the way she gets out more than her batting. Actually, Poonam showed tremendous sportsmanship by leaving her crease even before the umpire gave the verdict. Poonam is being praised everywhere for this. Mandhana has also become a fan of her fellow player and she said that Poonam has earned a lot of respect in the eyes of all of us.
Praising Poonam’s sportsmanship, Smriti Mandhana said, “At first we reacted like oh why did she (Poonam) do this, but after that obviously it is something that we have a lot of respect for. After leaving the crease on his own, I think he has earned a lot of respect from all the players of the team. And I don’t know how many players do this in men’s and women’s cricket at the moment. I don’t know how many people would walk out from the crease in the absence of DRS. These days people walk out because of having DRS. But when DRS is not there then leave the crease. I do not know. So, obviously he has earned a lot of respect in our eyes. But yes, the first reaction was whether it was really a heavy edge and why did he leave the crease?’
India scored 276 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of the second day’s play of the Pink Ball Test. Smriti Mandhana has also become the first batsman for India to score a century in the Pink Ball Test. Gardner walks Mandhana on the score of 127 runs. Poonam Raut scored 36 runs after facing 165 balls and Molyneux showed the way to the pavilion.
