Stupid To Blame Indian Premier League For England Ashes Debacle Says Kevin Pietersen

Former England captain and batting legend Kevin Pietersen has termed it “stupid” to blame the Indian Premier League for his team’s humiliating 0-4 loss in the recently concluded Ashes series. Former England great David Gower was ‘very upset’ after the team’s Ashes defeat. He said current captain Joe Root had players who were “unavailable” because of the IPL.

Pietersen, who was part of the team that won the Ashes series in 2005, 2009, 2010-11 and 2013, laughed at this, saying, “It is stupid. You can’t blame IPL for going trough Test cricket in England. this is madness. I have reacted a lot to this. England’s cricket system is lacking for this. There is something wrong with county cricket.

Pietersen, representing ‘World Giants’ in ‘Legends League Cricket’, said on Thursday, “It is madness to blame the Indian Premier League because if you look at the Test team, maybe (Ben) Stokes (Jonny) Bairstow And (Jos) Buttler only plays in the IPL.
Pietersen, who was a part of the Delhi franchise in the IPL, said, “Rarely a player from the Test team plays IPL. So how can you blame the IPL? You can’t blame IPL. this is madness.”

Wildlife conservationist Peterson lauded India as a global leader in the campaign to save the one-horned rhinoceros. He had earlier praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for cracking down on poaching and protecting India’s wildlife. “As a conservationist, I spend a lot of time in Africa. There the population of rhinoceros is decreasing and the population of rhinoceros in India is increasing. India is leading the world in this matter.
