In this match, Steve Smith, playing for Delhi Capitals (DC), missed a scoop shot on the ball of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowler Lockie Ferguson and fell on the ground after being hit by the ball.

A sudden accident happened with Smith

Australian player Steve Smith got a place in the playing XI in place of Prithvi Shaw in the playing XI of Delhi Capitals. Steve Smith opened the innings with Shikhar Dhawan and both shared a 35-run partnership for the first wicket. Smith was clean bowled by Lockie Ferguson after scoring 39 runs. Smith hit the ball on his own thigh in the process of applying the scoop shot and after that he lay down on the field itself. The pictures of him lying on the ground are becoming very viral on social media. Smith played an innings of 39 runs in 34 balls. Smith hit 4 fours during this.

Kolkata beat Delhi by 3 wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Delhi Capitals by three wickets in this match. KKR captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Delhi’s team scored 127 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, KKR won the match by scoring 130 runs for seven wickets in 18.2 overs.
