Team India had to face defeat by 7 wickets in the high scoring match against South Africa on Thursday night. Batting first, India had scored a huge score of 211 runs, but still the team had to face defeat. With this defeat, the streak of 12 wins of Team India was also broken. The players and fans of the Indian team are very disappointed after the loss in the first T20, but former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has given two reasons why the team should be happy.
The Little Master called Ishan Kishan’s quick runs and Hardik Pandya’s all-round performance as the plus points of the team.
Speaking to Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “He (Ishan Kishan) didn’t start well, initially the ball hit the sides of his bat and he was playing in the wrong line too, but he stayed. Sometimes when the ball is solid it is difficult to middle. But after settling down, he scored more than 70 runs and he achieved that very soon.”
Ishan Kishan scored 76 runs in 48 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes, while Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 31 runs in 12 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes.
On the return of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, the former captain said, “Hardik Pandya is coming down and hitting the ball all around. These are really two great things for the Indian team. Hardik bowling is also a good sign. Yes, he was expensive, but you can’t expect him to fix everything in the first over when he comes to bowl in international cricket after a long time. He can maintain this form, no doubt about it. If India bat in the second innings, he will always be able to finish the game for the team. The shot he played over long off was unbelievable and amazing.
