New Delhi. In the Gavaskar-Border Trophy between India and Australia, there is a war between the two teams regarding spin bowling. The Australian team, practicing in Bangalore, is busy completing its preparations against spin bowling with the help of local spin bowlers of India. The first Test match is to be played in Nagpur from 9 February. The Kangaroo team is not deterred from playing mind games regarding the four-match Test series. Meanwhile, Suresh Raina (Steve Smith), the former batsman of the Indian team, is quite surprised by an act of the Australian team.

It has been three days for the Australian team to come to India. There is more than a week for the Test series to start but no practice match is being played between the two countries. It is generally a tradition that before the Test series, the visiting team is given a practice match to practice the pitches. The Kangaroos flatly refused to play the practice match. Instead, they are practicing among themselves in the nets.

In the past, clarification was given by Steve Smith for not playing the practice match. He had made serious allegations against the BCCI. He said that we would have been given a green top ie a pitch supporting fast bowlers for practice. It is better that we practice in the nets with you.

Raina said during a conversation with news agency PTI on the occasion of ‘Mission Olympics’ annual day meet organized by ‘Police Family Welfare Society’, “I have played practice matches before the Test and they are really important. Australia can understand Indian pitches only by playing on them. His decision is surprising.”

Raina is confident that India will do well in the four-Test series and the return of Ravindra Jadeja will bring good balance to the team. He said, “I am happy to have Jadeja back after a long time. Our spinners R Ashwin, Akshar Patel are doing well. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in good form and I think we will get to see a good series.
