Indian team star Suryakumar Yadav is struggling in ODIs
Cheaply out against New Zealand after Sri Lanka
New Delhi. Suryakumar Yadav, the stormy batsman of the Indian cricket team, performed brilliantly in T20 cricket last year. Till now he is waiting for a good innings in ODIs. At the beginning of the year, constant questions were raised about not being given a chance in the playing XI of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. When he got a chance in the last match, he could not take advantage.
Team India’s Mr. 360 degree Suryakumar was expected to perform well in ODIs after T20. After not getting a chance to play in ODIs against Sri Lanka, voices were raised about him from all sides. From social media to veteran cricketers advocated to field him in this format as well. Surya is not liking the format of ODI and that’s why he is not able to take advantage of the opportunity.
The ICC ODI World Cup is to be played in India this year and his innings will ensure his place in the team. Surya scored only 4 runs in the third ODI against Sri Lanka and now scored 31 runs in the first ODI against New Zealand. Due to Shreyas Iyer being out of the series due to injury, Surya’s place has been made in the playing eleven. By not scoring runs on the occasion he got from the World Cup, he is hitting his own foot. If runs are not scored then the competition in Team India is such that they will not be able to make it.
Team India’s eye, will take a decision soon
ODI World Cup is to be played in India this year, so Team India is now deciding the name of the players in the team with every series. Surya may have done well in T20 but he has not been able to impress in ODIs so far. If he continues to play like this, then BCCI can take a tough decision regarding him.
