Suryakumar Yadav told that this habit of his started in 2010-11, when I made my debut for Mumbai and this habit remains with me even today. Suryakumar Yadav told in this interview that he is a big fan of Steve Waugh. He told in this interview that he is especially fond of Steve Waugh’s innings of 1994-95, in which he was heavy on Curtly Ambrose.

He said, “I used to watch that video and see that when he was going to bat, he [स्टीव वॉ] What were you doing? What is their attitude? What is his intent when he is batting against the fastest and craziest fast bowlers in the world?”

He further said, “I learned only one thing from this video – attack. That’s the only thing and that’s how I used to bat when I started my Ranji Trophy career as well. I always felt that attack is my best defence. Whatever be the situation, try and put pressure on the opposition and see what is in front of you.”
