Kerala achieved the target of 146 runs with the help of Azaruddin’s 60 runs and captain Samson’s unbeaten 52* with 3 balls to spare. Samson did not find a place in Team India for the T20 series against New Zealand (India vs New Zealand) amid the news of leaving the captaincy of IPL team Rajasthan Royals.
Sanju Samson has performed brilliantly so far in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has scored 227 runs in 6 innings at an average of 114. Has also hit 3 half-centuries. During this his strike rate has been 144. He has remained unbeaten in 4 innings. In such a situation, he has once again submitted a claim for Team India. Himachal’s team could manage only 145 runs for six wickets despite opener Raghav Dhawan’s 65 runs in 52 balls. Apart from Dhawan, only Prashant Chopra (36) could cross the 20-run mark.

Kerala will face Tamil Nadu in the quarter-finals on November 18. Other last-8 matches will be Bengal vs Karnataka, Rajasthan vs Vidarbha and Gujarat vs Hyderabad. All matches will take place on 18 November. The semi-finals will be played on November 20 and the final on November 22. Talking about the tournament, Tanmay Agarwal of Hyderabad has scored 302 runs.
