T20 WC IND vs PAK Waqar Younis apologizes for remarks about Mohammed Rizwan offering Namaz among Hindus – Latest Cricket News

Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan was seen offering namaz on the ground between drinks breaks during the match against India, pictures of which went viral on social media. Former Pakistan cricketer and bowling coach Waqar Younis has apologized for the comment made regarding this. Waqar had said about this that it was very special among Hindus to offer Rizwan Namaz on the field. There was an uproar over this statement of Waqar Younis and after all the criticism, he has apologized for it.

Waqar wrote on Twitter, ‘I said such a thing out of anger, I said something which I did not mean to say, which has hurt the sentiments of many people. I apologize for this, I didn’t mean to do that at all, really made a mistake. Sports connects people irrespective of color and religion. Regarding this comment of Waqar, India’s star commentator Harsha Bhogle had said, ‘I am sure that Waqar will apologize for this, we have to unite the cricket world, not divide it on the basis of religion.’

Waqar had said on ARY News, ‘The way Babar and Rizwan batted, rotated the strike, the expressions on their faces were amazing to see. Best was what Rizwan did, he offered namaz on the ground which was surrounded by Hindus, it was very special for me. Not only in India but also in Pakistan, there was a lot of controversy about this statement of Waqar and people gave him a lot of criticism for this statement. Rizwan scored 79 not out off 55 balls against India and played a key role in the 10-wicket win.
