Abu Dhabi. Team India has moved towards its first victory in the T20 World Cup. Batting first, in their third match of the tournament (T20 World Cup 2021), the team scored 210 runs for 2 wickets. For the first time in the tournament, a team touched the 200-run mark. In reply, Afghanistan (India vs Afghanistan) lost 5 wickets for 70 runs. With this match, the hope of reaching the semi-finals of Team India has increased. Earlier the team has lost both the matches. The match between Afghanistan and New Zealand is to be held on 7 November. If the Afghanistan team wins this match, then Team India can reach the last-4. Due to these 5 reasons, Afghanistan’s team can be heavy on New Zealand.
-So far only Martin Guptill has scored a half-century for New Zealand. That is, in 3 matches, only one half-century has been scored by the team. Barring Kane Williamson, the middle order has little experience of playing international matches. Afghanistan can benefit from this.
-Scottish left-arm spinner Mark Watt troubled New Zealand’s batsmen. He gave only 13 runs in 4 overs and also took a wicket. Afghanistan have world-class spinners like Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi, who can outdo New Zealand.
-Afghanistan has more experience of playing T20 Internationals in UAE and also has a good record. The team has won 28 out of 36 matches. That is, about 78 percent. On the other hand New Zealand’s team has been able to win only 3 matches out of 10 and lost in 7. That is, the team has lost 70 percent of the matches.
-For the first time in T20 International, the teams of Afghanistan and New Zealand will clash. In such a situation, the Kiwi batsmen do not have much experience in playing Afghanistan’s spin trio. On the other hand Rashid Khan plays in IPL with Kane Williamson from Hyderabad. That is, they know their weaknesses.
-Batting first in both the matches against Pakistan and Scotland, the New Zealand team did not have a good start. Against Scotland, Guptill handled the team by scoring 93 out of 172 i.e. 54 percent of the team. Against Pakistan, the team could score only 134 runs. In such a situation, if Afghanistan wins the toss, then it will not be easy for New Zealand to score big.
