In fact, former Afghanistan captain Asghar suddenly said goodbye to international cricket after the match against Namibia.
He and his fellow players were deeply saddened by the loss to Pakistan. For this reason, he suddenly announced his retirement. All-rounder Sharafuddin has got a place in the team in place of Asghar due to his retirement. He has played 17 ODIs and 9 T20 International matches.
Sharafuddin was the reserve player
In view of the needs of isolation due to Kovid-19, teams were allowed to keep additional players in the team and Sharafuddin was also a reserve player in the Afghanistan team. As a captain, Asghar holds the record of winning most T20 International matches.
He led Afghanistan in 115 matches. The 33-year-old Asghar has played 6 Tests, 114 ODIs and 75 T20 Internationals. He has scored 4246 runs in all formats. Talking about Sharafuddin, he scored 66 runs in 17 ODIs and took 13 wickets for Afghanistan. At the same time, scored 28 runs in 9 T20 matches and took 5 wickets.
