New Delhi. The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will start from October 17 and the final will be played on November 14. That is, the tournament will run for a total of 29 days. During this time all the teams will have to stay in the bio-bubble. Which will be no less than a challenge for the players. Especially for those who have been a part of the ICC Bio Bubble Norm continuously for the last few months. The ICC is also aware of this problem of the players. That’s why a special plan has been prepared. So that fatigue caused by bio-bubble fatigue does not dominate anyone and players can concentrate only on the game.
The ICC will engage the services of psychologists to deal with issues related to players’ mental health and fatigue caused by bio-bubbles during the T20 World Cup. For this, psychologists will be present 24 hours a day, who will counsel the players on issues related to mental health.
Mental health most important: ICC
ICC’s Integrity Unit head Alex Marshall said that many players are coming for the T20 World Cup after living in different bio-bubbles. In such a situation, it will not be easy for them to be a part of the new bio-bubble. We have to accept that in a controlled environment their mental health will be affected. That’s why the ICC has decided to have a psychologist posted 24 hours a day. So that players can take advice from them when needed.
Psychologists will be available 24 hours a day for the players
While dealing with matters related to mental health, the ICC has also ensured that players do not remain within the bio-bubble at all times. They can go out and entertain themselves. This has also been arranged. Players will be able to play golf. But this will also happen only in a controlled environment. The bulk of the players’ golf courses will be reserved in advance. So that the risk of corona infection can be kept under control.
Players will be able to live with family in Bio-Bubble
Marshall said that the stay of family members will reduce the stress on the players. That’s why we have allowed only close members to be with the players in the bio-bubble. Players from only a few teams will bring their family members along. Team India will also be involved in this. Because most of the players of India are playing IPL at this time and their family is already present in UAE.
The ICC’s Integrity Head further said that the players’ families will also have to stay in isolation for 6 days and they will be allowed to enter the bubble only after Corona’s 3 test report is negative.
