Dubai. The final match of the T20 World Cup between Australia and New Zealand will be played on Sunday. For this match (AUS vs NZ), the name of the umpires was decided by the ICC on Friday. According to a statement issued by the ICC, Marais Erasmus of South Africa and Richard Kettleborough of England have been appointed as on-field umpires for the T20 World Cup final to be played between Australia and New Zealand.
There is also a name from India, who will play the role of TV umpire. India’s Nitin Menon will be seen playing the responsibility as a TV umpire in the title match. The final match will be played in Dubai. “Umpires Marais Erasmus and Richard Kettleborough will take over as on-field umpires for the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup-2021 to be played between Australia and New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday,” the ICC (International Cricket Council) said in a statement.
Menon, the only Indian umpire in the ICC Elite Panel, will be the TV umpire in the final while former Sri Lankan spinner Kumar Dharmasena will be the fourth umpire. Menon is officiating in his first men’s World Cup which is a big achievement for him. Ranjan Madugalle will be the match referee. Australia defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the semi-final played in Dubai itself and made it to the title match. At the same time, New Zealand defeated England at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and entered the final.
