New Delhi. Team India’s new jersey (Team India New Jersey) for the T20 World Cup 2021 was launched a day earlier. This dark blue jersey is inspired by the fans of Team India. On the day of launch, the world’s tallest building ‘Burj Khalifa’ also came in the color of Team India’s jersey (Team Indian Jersey Showcased on Burj Khalifa). The picture lit up in the light. A video of this has also surfaced, in which the picture of the players of Team India with the new jersey is visible.
Team India will be seen playing in this jersey in the practice match against England and Australia on October 18 and 20.
MPL Sports issued a statement saying that this is the first time in the history of Indian cricket, that the sentiments of the fans have been shown on the jersey. This is shown by the pattern of a particular ‘sound wave’. Two shades of dark blue color have been given in the dress.
Jersey is linked to the expectations of Indian fans: Ganguly
Earlier, after the jersey was launched, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had said that the Indian cricket team has fans not just in India but across the world and to celebrate their enthusiasm and energy, they will show it on the dress. There couldn’t have been a better way than this. He said that there is no doubt that this will give the necessary support to the team on its way to become the T20 champion.
Shardul joins the team instead of Akshar
Meanwhile, for the T20 World Cup 2021, the BCCI made a change in the 15-member squad of Team India. In place of left-arm spin bowler Axar Patel, fast bowler Shardul Thakur has been given a place in the team. Akshar will now be with the team as a reserve player in place of Shardul. There are total 3 reserve players. Apart from this, 8 other players have also been added to the team for preparation. That is, apart from the 15-member team, 11 additional players will be with the team.
