Tata electric cars with range up to 437 km created a boom, sales increased by 276%


Tata Motors announced on Thursday that the company has recorded an overall increase of 36% in vehicle sales in August 2022. This includes all categories of vehicles sold by the company. At the same time, the company has also performed well in the electric vehicle segment. Tata Motors currently has three electric cars in its fleet, including the Tata Nexon EV, the Tata Tigor EV and the Tata Xpres T electric car sold for the commercial fleet.

Tata Motors has informed that the company has sold 3,845 electric car units in August 2022. At the same time, in the same period last year, the company had sold a total of 1,022 units. This means that the company has sold 2,823 units more year-on-year, which shows a growth of 276%. Surely this will prove to be a tremendous achievement for the company.

In recent months, the demand for the sale of electric vehicles has increased significantly. Sales of electric cars in June 2022 stood at 3,089 units, a growth of 303.26 per cent as against just 766 units sold in June 2021. The month-on-month sales grew by 8.20 per cent at 2,855 units sold in May 2022 and the sales chart was topped by the Tata Nexon/Tigor. As of June, the Nexon and Tigor had 87.70 per cent market share among Tata’s electric cars.

Tata Motors recently launched the Tata Nexon EV Max. The SUV is more powerful and offers more range than the original Nexon EV. Starting at Rs 17,74,000 ex-showroom, the Tata Nexon Max is still the cheapest electric compact SUV in India, offering a range of 437 km on a single charge.
