New Delhi. The team has been selected for the last two matches of the 4-match Test series to be played between India and Australia. Fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat has returned in this team. He was released for the Ranji Trophy final before the second Test against Australia in Delhi.
On Sunday, February 19, the BCCI announced the team for the remaining 2 matches of the 4-match Test series being played against Australia. The players of the team selected for the first two Test matches have been named the same. The one major change that the selectors have made in the team is regarding the vice-captain. While releasing the team list last time, BCCI had named KL Rahul as the vice-captain, whereas in this time’s team list, vice-captain has not been written against any player.
KL Rahul has disappointed a lot in the last few matches. Even in the current series being played against Australia, runs have not come off his bat in the last 3 innings. Taking away the vice-captaincy from KL Rahul means that now he will probably be out of the playing eleven in the next match. Shubman Gill is in top form, he may get a chance to play against Australia in Indore.
The third match of the 4-match series of the Indian team is to be played in Indore from March 1 to 5. The fourth and last match of the series is to be held in Ahmedabad from 9 to 14 March. India currently has an unbeatable 2-0 lead in this series. With the victory of the third match, Team India will secure the ticket for the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
