India vs Australia: After thrashing Australia in the first T20 in Mohali and raising many questions on their performance, the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will look to save their nose in the second T20 match tomorrow i.e. Friday. India will have to answer many questions in the second match so that a balanced team can be prepared for next month’s T20 World Cup.
In Jadeja’s absence, the search for all-rounder continues
India had rested fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the first match, while veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami withdrew from the series due to Kovid. India’s batting is still looking to settle down. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got out early. Opener KL Rahul made a brilliant half-century while returning after a long injury break. In the absence of Ravindra Jadeja, the search for the all-rounder is on.
Team India will come down to save the nose in Nagpur
In the first T20 match, India had to find answers to these questions, but India lost the match by four wickets and went 0-1 in the three-match series. Indian batsmen Rahul and Hardik Pandya batted better and scored 55 and 71 not out to take India to 208 for six. Suryakumar Yadav scored 46 runs in 25 balls.
He spoiled India’s work by dropping a catch.
Despite making a big score, the Indian bowling failed to stop Australia except Axar Patel (4-0-17-3). Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar looted runs. Questions are being raised on the performance of Bhuvneshwar’s death over. India’s fielding was also poor and the fielders spoiled India’s work by dropping four catches.
Will have to improve the death overs bowling by replacing Bhuvneshwar
In the second match, India will have to improve the death overs bowling by replacing Bumrah in place of Bhuvneshwar. Bhuvi conceded runs in his final overs in Mohali after disappointing in the death overs against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. India conceded 53 runs in their 17th and 19th overs which made Australia’s job easier.
Left India behind in every department of the game
Umesh Yadav, returning from injury, took two wickets in an over. 27 runs came in his two overs. Umesh can be a good substitute for Bhuvneshwar in the death overs. On the other hand, Australia will enter the second match with renewed enthusiasm after the victory of Mohali. Australia started and finished well in Mohali, leaving India behind in every department of the game. Australia will play for the first time at the new Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha. This stadium, built in 2008, will host its first T20 International match after a gap of three years due to the Kovid 19 pandemic.
