The Indian team is going to start its Under 19 World Cup 2022 campaign today i.e. on Saturday 15 January. The Indian team, captained by Yash Dhul, has been placed in Group B of this mega event, which also includes teams from Uganda, South Africa and Ireland. The 16 teams are divided into four groups. The top two teams in their respective groups in the points table will qualify for the playoffs and quarter-finals.
India has to face South Africa in their first match today. In this tournament being played in the West Indies, India’s team is being considered as one of the contenders for the title, because before this tournament, India’s team won the title in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under 19 Asia Cup. This is the reason why India’s team is a contender to win the title in the ICC Under 19 World Cup. However, for this the players will have to work hard.
In the league phase of the Under-19 World Cup 2022, India will face Ireland, followed by South Africa on January 19 and then Uganda on January 22. It is looking easy for the Indian team to travel ahead from Group B. It is believed that the Indian team will easily win two out of three matches. If India beat the South African team, then India can also win three out of three matches in Group B.
