New Delhi. After India’s Under-19 women’s cricket team won its maiden ICC trophy, head coach Nooshin Al Khadeer said here on Sunday that the country was waiting for this moment for a long time. He said that this victory shows that there is no dearth of talent in India. The Indian women’s team won the ICC trophy for the first time after defeating England by seven wickets in the final of the Under-19 T20 World Cup on Sunday. Nushin said after the match, “It is a great feeling. This is the realization that we were waiting for a very long time. This is the first time we have won the (World) Cup and it has come with the U-19 kids. It shows the kind of depth we have in terms of talent and what our future will be like.

India had to face defeat in just one match during their campaign in this World Cup. The team was defeated by Australia by seven wickets in the ‘Super Six’ stage. Nushin said, “The most important thing in this team is that there is no wavering of faith. I knew he had done poorly against Australia. After that, however, the way the team played together was fantastic. We tried to keep things very simple like this. We had a feeling that we would achieve this in our own way.
