Punjab beat Delhi Capitals by 31 runs
Punjab Kings opener hit a blistering century
New Delhi. Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh batted brilliantly against Delhi Capitals. Prabhsimran hit 103 runs in 65 balls at a strike rate of 158.46. Prabhasimran hit 10 fours and 8 sixes in his innings while thrashing the Delhi bowlers. Former explosive opener Virender Sehwag has also become a fan of Prabhsimran Singh’s batting after this innings. Veeru praised this young batter fiercely.
Virender Sehwag said, the opportunities given by Punjab Kings to Prabhsimran benefited him. Now he has to perform consistently. Veeru said, when Prabhsimran Singh came to IPL for the first time, he was bought by paying a lot of money (Rs 4.8 crore). This time he has got a very less amount (60 lakh rupees). Despite this, he proved his talent.
‘Match winning player’
Virender Sehwag said in a show, Prabhsimran Singh showed that he can score a century. He was bought for Rs 60 lakh and if a player scores that much and wins you a few games, it doesn’t get better than that. Punjab bought Sam Curran for 18.50 crores, what has he done?
Talking about the match, with the help of Harpreet Brar’s four wickets after Prabhsimran Singh’s century, Punjab Kings registered a 31-run win over Delhi Capitals and kept David Warner’s team out of the race, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Batting first, Punjab scored 167 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated overs. In response, Captain David Warner and Phil Salt gave Delhi a good start. However, due to the failure of the middle order, the team could only score 136 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. With this defeat, Delhi’s way to reach the playoffs was completely closed. At the same time, Punjab Kings have 12 points after 12 matches and are at number seven in the points table.
