The Wall also has problems with the workload of IPL! Players are getting injured again and again…remind the rights of BCCI

New Delhi. On one hand, the head coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid, is trying to prepare the team for the upcoming 50-over World Cup and World Test Championship. On the other hand, injury to big cricketers remains a problem for them. Players get injured after playing continuously for two and a half months in IPL, due to which they miss international cricket for a long time. Dravid expressed his concern about this. Also told that BCCI has every right to stop any player from playing in IPL.

Rahul Dravid appeared before the media before the third ODI of the series against New Zealand in Indore. The names of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not in the T20 series. It is believed that in order to give a chance to the youth, Rohit-Virat has been discharged from this format for the time being. Rahul Dravid clarified on this. He said, “Workload management is such a thing which is a part of the game in today’s time. We keep reviewing these things. You will call it a break, we have rested our important cricketers in the upcoming T20 series.

Rahul Dravid said, “Injury management and workload management are two different things. Keeping in mind the amount of cricket we are playing at the moment, we have to strike a balance between injury and workload management by understanding our priority. Looking at our short term and long term priorities, we have to ensure that big players are available in big tournaments.

BCCI has the authority

On the question asked about IPL, Rahul Dravid said, “As far as IPL is concerned. The National Cricket Academy and the medical team are in good touch with all the franchises. If any issue like injury comes up, we connect with them. If the player is injured or there is some other issue, then I think the BCCI has the right to take that player out of the IPL.

‘IPL is also important’

Rahul Dravid said, “If he is fit then we will also release him to play in IPL as it is a very important tournament of Indian cricket. This is a very big tournament for BCCI. This is also important in view of the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024. It is important because only through this we get a chance to judge a player in T20 format.
