After performances for India A in Abu Dhabi and Australia, he was selected in the 30-man probables list for the Champions Trophy, although he did not make it to the final squad. Earlier, he had also made his debut in Ranji Trophy. He made his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai in the 2006–07 season. However, he could not contribute much in the initial matches.
