Samiur Rahman Passed Away: Former Bangladesh fast bowler Samiur Rahman passed away on Tuesday. The 68-year-old former cricketer Samiur Rahman was suffering from a brain tumour, which was detected earlier this year.

There was a wave of mourning in the cricket world due to the death of Samiur Rahman. Former Bangladesh fast bowler Samiur Rahman was part of Bangladesh’s first two ODIs in 1986, apart from being included in the ICC Trophy in 1982 and 1986.
Samiur Rahman enjoyed a more illustrious career playing for Abahani, Mohammedan Sporting, Bangladesh Biman, Kalabagan and Azad Boys & Brothers Union in the Dhaka Premier League. Former Bangladesh fast bowler Samiur Rahman also represented Barisal in the National Cricket Championship.

Samiur Rahman also played basketball notably for Dhaka Spurs. An ESPN Cricinfo report has been said about this. After his cricket career, former Bangladesh fast bowler Samiur Rahman worked as an umpire and match referee. He is survived by his wife and two sons. Currently his brother Yusuf Rahman is in America, who has also been a former national cricketer.
