He suffered a right elbow injury in the Test series against West Indies, due to which he was midway out of the match during the first Test in Antigua and did not take part in the entire series. Apart from this, Wood suffered a major setback when he had to withdraw his name from IPL 2022 due to troubled by this injury. In place of Mark Wood’s replacement, the Lucknow team has added Andrew Tye.

Mark Wood has now shared a video and photo from the hospital by sharing the post on Instagram, telling about the completion of the surgery. In the video, Mark Wood was seen having fun while he was heard saying, ‘I can still bowl fast. I am very sad that I am not able to play IPL this year. I really like Andy Flower.’ While sharing the photo, Mark Wood wrote in his caption, ‘Who says hospital gowns are not good. There is no more pain in my arm. Thanks to Professors Roger van Ritt and Mr. Ali Noorani and to all the staff who made me feel completely at ease.’
