Former India captain and star cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a fan following all over the world. Some young cricketers of Pakistan are also big fans of Dhoni and one of them has gifted his jersey to fast bowler Harris Rauf. Dhoni still plays for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is leading the team. Dhoni sent CSK’s number 7 jersey for Harris Rauf. Recalling this anecdote, Rauf told that he had told Dhoni that he wanted CSK jersey and not Team India’s.
Rauf said on a YouTube channel, ‘I met MS Dhoni after the match against India in the T20 World Cup last year. I told him to give me his jersey. But I also told him that I want CSK jersey and not Team India’s. He told me that he would definitely send me the jersey and I got it when I was in Australia.
When Team India went on the tour of Australia in 2018-19, Rauf played the role of a net bowler. Rauf then bowled in front of batsmen like Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara. Hardik Pandya was also with Team India and Rauf told that Pandya had praised him and boosted his morale. Rauf said, ‘Team India manager needed some net bowlers, in Australia, their batsmen could bowl in the nets. I thought this was a good opportunity to bowl to international cricketers. I bowled to Virat and Pujara and Hardik Pandya was bowling to me. He then told me that I am doing a good job and will definitely play for the Pakistan cricket team.
