The Indian cricket team will play a three-match T20 series against New Zealand at home and the first match of this series will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday. This series will mark the beginning of a new era in Indian cricket. Rohit Sharma will now take over the responsibility of the Indian T20 team as a full-time captain. It is just a coincidence that Rohit is making his captaincy debut from Jaipur as he has a special attachment to Jaipur. Rohit started his captaincy for another team 9 years ago from Jaipur itself.

Rohit made his debut from Jaipur on 7 November 2012 when he took over the captaincy of the Mumbai team in the Ranji Trophy. After 9 years, once again Rohit is returning to Jaipur and once again he is starting his captaincy career from this city. Along with this, Rohit’s tweet from 9 years ago is also going viral, in which he was very happy to get the responsibility of captaincy of the Mumbai cricket team. In a tweet that went viral on social media, Rohit had said, ‘I have reached Jaipur and yes, I will captain the team. I am very excited about this responsibility.

Rohit then captained the Mumbai team in the Ranji Trophy at the KL Saini Ground in Jaipur. But now he will take over the captaincy of the Indian team from the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The second T20 International match between India and New Zealand will be played on 19 November in Ranchi and the third and final T20 match will be played on 21 November at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After this both the teams will play a two-match Test series. The first Test will be played from November 25 in Kanpur and the second Test will be played in Mumbai from December 3.
