Tymal Mills has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup-2021 due to injury. He took 4 wickets in 4 matches in this global tournament. He was also battling an injury in the match against Sri Lanka.
New Delhi. England suffered a major setback on Wednesday and pacer Tymal Mills was ruled out of the T20 World Cup-2021 due to injury. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed this on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by the ECB, Mills has a strain on his right thigh and will not be able to participate in the rest of the ICC tournament. In his place, left-arm fast bowler Reece Topley has been included in the team.
Tople was part of the team as a reserve player. Mills bowled only 1.3 overs against Sri Lanka. After that he left the field. Later he was scanned. The ECB said in a statement, ‘Mills bowled in the T20 World Cup Super 12 match against Sri Lanka in Sharjah on Monday. He was battling an injury. The results of the scans on Tuesday night revealed the severity of the injury.
Mills appeared in all four matches for England and took 4 wickets. The injury of this left arm fast bowler is serious. He was out of the England team since 2018 due to injury but he returned to the team for the T20 World Cup. He has played only 9 T20 Internationals in his career so far. He has not played for England in any other format.
