IPL 2021: Jammu and Kashmir’s 21-year-old fast bowler Umran Malik has dominated the 14th season of IPL. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Malik bowled the fastest ball of this season. His action is like that of former Pakistan bowler Waqar Younis.
New Delhi. Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Umran Malik is wreaking havoc with his speed in IPL 2021. The 21-year-old bowler from Jammu and Kashmir has played only two IPL matches but has won everyone’s heart with his pace. Against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Umran has proved his mettle by bowling 5 consecutive balls at a speed of more than 150 kmph. Umran has also become the fastest bowler to bowl (152.95 kmph) in the 14th season of IPL. Apart from this, the record of the fastest throw from India in IPL history has also become his name. His bowling action exactly matches that of former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis.
In the IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad, his speed in 11 out of 24 balls was more than 145 kms. Even though Umran did not get any wicket but he gave only 27 runs in 4 overs. Against Bangalore, he bowled tremendously and played an important role in the victory. Malik took the wicket of Shrikar Bharat for 21 runs in four overs and was the most economical bowler for Hyderabad.
