New Delhi. Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umran Malik impressed everyone with his bowling in his debut match in the IPL. He made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in this T20 league on Sunday with a match against Kolkata Knight Riders. During this, Umran Malik bowled the ball at a speed of 150.06 kmph, which is the fastest ball bowled by an Indian in this season.
In this match played in Dubai, however, Umran’s team Hyderabad had to face defeat by 6 wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders Hyderabad team could score 115 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, after which Kolkata achieved the target by losing 4 wickets with 2 balls to spare. With this, the Kolkata team remains in the race for the playoffs, while Hyderabad has already been out of this race.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have included Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umran Malik as a short-term replacement in the team after T Natarajan tested positive for COVID-19. Umran was the net bowler of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Umran will remain a part of the team until Natarajan recovers from this deadly virus.
Even though 21-year-old Umran did not get any wicket, he gave only 27 runs in 4 overs. He made his debut in T20 cricket this year for Jammu and Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Malik was included in Hyderabad’s playing XI in place of fast bowler Sandeep Sharma in the match against KKR. He impressed everyone with his pace in the fourth over of the innings against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Dubai.
Earlier, Mohammad Siraj was the last fastest Indian bowler in IPL-2021 with a delivery of 146.68. Malik has played one List A and only one T20 match for Jammu and Kashmir and has taken a total of 4 wickets.
