Unmukt Chand, who won the Under-19 World Cup to Team India under his captaincy, left for Melbourne just two days after his marriage. Unmukt and nutritionist Simran Khosla married on November 21, two days after Unmukt left for Australia on November 23 to participate in the Big Bash League. Unmukt had come to India for just two days for marriage. Due to not getting a place in Team India, Unmukt had announced his retirement and after that he shifted to America. Unmukt is now playing cricket in America and due to his separation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), he has got a chance to play in the BBL.
BCCI does not allow its players to play in any other franchise league in the world other than the Indian Premier League (IPL). Simran has shared a video, in which Unmukt proposes her for marriage at the airport itself. The two got married within two days and after that he left for Australia to participate in the BBL. Unmukt has gone alone.
Unmukt will play for Melbourne Renegades in BBL. 28-year-old Unmukt is the first Indian cricketer who will be seen playing in the BBL. Indian women cricketers participate in the Women’s Big Bash League, but Unmukt is the first Indian when it comes to men’s cricketers. In the final of the Under-19 World Cup, Unmukt scored a match-winning century against Australia.
