Former Sri Lankan captain suddenly retired from international cricket

New Delhi, Former Sri Lankan ODI captain Lahiru Thirimanne suddenly retired from international cricket. He gave this information to the fans by posting a long post on social media. Thirimanne was part of the Sri Lankan team that won the T20 World Cup in 2014. Thirimanne played the last match for Sri Lanka in March last year. Then he appeared in the Test match against India. He played the last ODI for Sri Lanka 4 years back.

Lahiru Thirimanne shared an emotional post on his Facebook account. He wrote, “It has been a great honor to represent my country over the past few years. This game has given me a lot over the years but with a lot of mixed emotions, I announce my retirement from International Cricket with immediate effect. As a sportsperson I have given my best, I have tried my best, I have respected the game and I have done my duty honestly and morally towards my motherland.
