Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and UP Warriors reach playoffs
New Delhi. The picture of the playoffs of the first season of the Women’s Premier League became clear. Mumbai Indians had already reached the playoffs due to being at the top of the points table. At the same time, Delhi Capitals also got their ticket cut. There was a competition between three teams UP Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants for the remaining one place. But, UP Warriors won the game.
UP registered a win against Gujarat Giants with one ball remaining in the 17th match played at Brabourne Stadium on Monday. With this victory of UP, the playoff hopes of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants ended. Already in third place in the points table with 6 points, UP needed only one win in the last 2 matches. While it was necessary for Gujarat to win their last match by a big margin. But, the Gujarat team failed to do so.
Virat’s hands empty in RCB’s WPL too

UP won the match with 1 ball to spare

How is the format of WPL?
Due to the first season of WPL, only 5 teams are participating in it. BCCI has kept its format short. After the league stage, the team which will be on top of the points table. She will play the final directly. Currently, Mumbai Indians are on top with 10 points and have 2 matches left. At the same time, the eliminator will be played between the second and third placed teams.
UP Warriors are currently at the third position in the points table and will play the Eliminator. The team that will win this match will play the final.
