New Delhi. West Indies clean sweeped UAE in the 3 ODI series at their home before the World Cup qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe. The third and last ODI played in Sharjah on Friday was also won by the visiting team by 4 wickets. In this way West Indies named the series 3-0. In the victory of West Indies, 2 players Alik Athanaj and Kevin Sinclair played an important role. When Alik made a record with the bat, Sinclair did wonders with the ball on his return and won the team.
Kevin Sinclair played the last ODI for the West Indies in August 2022. After this he made a comeback against UAE and bowled amazingly. He took 4 wickets for 24 runs in 7.1 overs. After this dashing performance, he celebrated the wicket in his old style and the way he celebrated the wicket by putting somersaults several times in the Caribbean Premier League, he did something similar against UAE.
Alik hit record fifty on debut
At the same time, ODI debutant Alyque Athanaje also played an amazing inning. He played an inning of 65 runs in 45 balls. Alyque scored a 26-ball half-century on ODI debut and equaled India’s Krunal Pandya’s record for the fastest half-century. Alik hit 9 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. With the help of his innings, West Indies achieved the target of 185 runs with 89 balls to spare.
