New Delhi. Before the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India this year, its trophy tour was started on a large scale. The tour began on a grand note when the trophy was launched into the stratosphere one lakh 20 thousand feet above the earth before a spectacular landing at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The trophy was attached to a special stratospheric balloon and cameras captured some stunning pictures of the trophy at the edge of the Earth’s atmosphere. The 2023 tour of the trophy will be its biggest ever with fans getting a chance to connect with the iconic trophy in different countries and cities across the globe.
According to the ICC release, from June 27, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup trophy will travel to 18 countries including host India, Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, America, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, America. One million fans will get to interact with the trophy through innovative activities and events across countries during the tour.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardyce said, “The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour marks an important milestone in the countdown to the biggest ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup ever. The tour will see the trophy interact with heads of state, launch community initiatives and support cricket development programs in addition to visiting some of the most iconic venues around the world.
