During this match, when the Gladiators team was fielding, an accident happened. In this, the team’s wicketkeeper Azam Khan got injured. While catching a slower ball from Sri Lankan bowler Nuwan Pradeep, the ball hit Azam on his head. Azam was not wearing a helmet at that time. After this, he had to be taken out of the ground with the help of a stretcher.

The incident of Azam Khan’s injury occurred in the 16th over of the Candy Falcons’ innings. Nuwan Pradeep was bowling this over. His third ball of this over was slower, which went towards the leg side. The batter dropped this ball. Due to uneven bounce, the ball did not reach Azam’s hands and went straight to his head. Due to not wearing a helmet, he started moaning in pain. Seeing Azam writhing in pain, the physio immediately came to the ground and gave him first aid. After this, Azam was hurriedly taken out of the ground with the help of a stretcher. After this, Lahiru Udara did wicketkeeping in the remaining matches.
